The Albert King, BB King, and Freddy King Bends

Heya folks…

you know,

B.B. King is known for bending the guitar strings. In a way, he was the first
to use this really technique as we know string bending… But to me, the
true “BB King” sounding bends are the 3-fret bends….

In this video, first you’ll see me just finishing up a demo on SRV/Albert King inspired vibrato and bends….Then, I demonstrate a couple of sweet blues licks inspired by BB and his wailing
bends. Probably his most charateristic bend is the 1 1/2 note bend from the fifth
to the seventh as I show here…

In “How to Play Smokin Blues”, I also do a section Freddy King, who might just be might my favorite blues player of all time… But you’ll probably have to get the DVD to
see that… But don’t worry, it’s coming out in less than 2 weeks!

Keep riffing,

Claude Johnson
